What Sorayli reads from a receipt
- The shop
- Its name, and its address when the receipt prints one.
- When
- The date and time of the purchase.
- Every item
- Each line with its quantity, unit price and line total — fourteen lines stay fourteen lines, not one lump sum.
- The money
- Subtotal, tax and total, and the currency when the receipt prints one.
- Discounts
- A saving printed under one item comes off that item. A coupon on the whole bill is spread across the items in proportion to their price when the tax is already in the prices, so the lines add up to what you paid.
- How you paid
- Card or cash, when the receipt says.
- A category
- A suggested category for each item, which you can change before saving.

An itemized receipt tracker, not just a total

How accurate is it?
It reads the line items, tax and total on most receipts in about ten seconds. No reader is perfect, so a scan never reaches your ledger until you have seen it, and every field can be corrected first. Changes to the reader are tested against real receipts that a person has checked line by line, including faint thermal paper, prices printed above item names and items that wrap onto two lines. We do not publish an accuracy percentage, because we have not measured one we would stand behind for every kind of receipt.

The Free plan includes 10 receipt scans a month, with no card needed to sign up. Pro and Family scan without a monthly limit. Typing a transaction in by hand is unlimited on every plan.

Questions about scanning
What if a line is read wrong?
Fix it before you save. Every field on the scan result can be edited, and a saved transaction can be edited later too. Nothing from a scan reaches your ledger until you have seen it.
Does the receipt have to be in English?
No. The receipts Sorayli is tested against include French ones, and the currency is read from the receipt when it is printed there; if it isn't, check the currency before you save. A purchase in another currency is converted to yours at that day's rate.
What happens to the photo?
It is stored with your account so you can open it next to its transaction later. To read it, the photo is sent to an AI service only after you allow scanning; under the API terms we use, that service does not train its models on it. Deleting your account deletes your receipts and their images, 30 days after you ask.
