Split a receipt by what each person had
Snap the receipt or type the lines, tap who had what, and the tool shares the tax, the tip and any discount in proportion. Every share is rounded to the cent and adds up to the total.
Your photo is sent to our AI provider to read the lines, and isn't stored. Nothing is saved unless you create an account. Up to 3 photos a day; typing is unlimited.
Example
A sample grocery run split between two people. Tap a name under a line to give it to that person; a line with nobody picked is shared.

How the split works
- Each line
- Split equally among the people you tap under it. A line with nobody tapped is shared by everyone.
- Tax, tip and discounts
- Shared in proportion to each person's share of the lines. If you had 60% of the food, you pay 60% of the tax and get 60% of the discount.
- Tax in the prices
- When the prices already include tax, tick the box and the tax isn't added again.
- Rounding
- Each share is rounded to the cent. A leftover cent goes to the largest share, so the shares always add up to the total.
- Reading the photo
- Sorayli's own receipt reader picks out every line, the tax and any discount. Check the lines before you share: a faded or folded receipt can misread.

Is it free?
Yes, with no account. Reading a photo is limited to 3 a day per person, because each one is a call to an AI model; typing the lines is unlimited.
What happens to my photo?
It is sent to our AI provider to read the lines and the totals, and isn't stored by Sorayli. The split itself lives only in your browser, and in the link if you share one.
Why split tax in proportion instead of equally?
Because tax is charged on what each person bought. Splitting it equally makes the person with the smallest share pay for someone else's groceries.
Can I keep track of my share?
That's what Sorayli does: scan a receipt and every line is filed by category, so your share counts toward your budget. The free plan includes 10 scans a month. How the receipt scanner works.
