The best grocery price tracker apps, from your own receipts (2026)

Deal apps tell you what's on sale this week. Receipt-based trackers tell you what you actually paid for milk, coffee or eggs, shop by shop and month by month. They answer different questions, and most people only need one of them.
Seen from above: six groceries in a neat row (apple, eggs, pasta, olive oil, bread, lemon), each with a small printed price tag, and an iPhone 17 Pro in cosmic orange at the end.

"Grocery price tracker" means two different things. Some apps collect prices from shops: weekly flyers, sales and coupons, so you can plan where to buy. Others collect prices from you: the receipts you've already paid, so you can see what your regular items cost over time and which shop charges less for them. If your question is "what's cheap this week", you want the first kind. If it's "why does my weekly shop cost more than last spring", you want the second.

Every fact about another app below comes from its own website or App Store page, read on October 6, 2026, and listed in the sources. Sorayli is our app; its price tracker is one of five tools here.

01The short list

  1. Sorayli: best for tracking every product you buy, across shops, from scanned receipts.
  2. Groceries Tracker: best for a grocery-only app that compares stores from your receipts.
  3. Basket: Compare Store Prices: best free, private option on iPhone, with everything kept on the device.
  4. Price Book: best if you want to log shelf prices by hand or barcode.
  5. Flipp: best for this week's flyers, deals and coupons.

03What a receipt-based tracker sees

A receipt already holds the price of every item you bought, at a named shop, on a known date. Scan enough of them and the history builds itself. Here's one weekly shop:

Nothing there needed a flyer or a crowd of shoppers: just your own receipts. That's also the limit of this kind of app: it only knows the shops you go to and the things you buy.

04Sorayli: every product, across shops

Sorayli reads every line of a scanned receipt, so its price tracker can follow a product across months and shops. Names are matched the way a person reads them: quantity markers are ignored, while sizes stay apart, because a litre and half a litre are different prices. A product is tracked once you've bought it twice at least a week apart. For each one you see its latest price at every shop, cheapest first, and your basket inflation: how much the things you keep buying have gone up, weighted by what you spend on them.

On iPhone, a Saturday push names the shop where the most of what you buy is cheapest, before the weekend shop. The price tracker and that push come with Pro and Family; the total of the discounts on your receipts is on every plan. See how insights work.

Drawbacks: the tracker needs receipts you've scanned, not typed entries. Pick it if you want prices tracked as a side effect of tracking all your spending.

05Groceries Tracker: a grocery-only app

Groceries Tracker reads each item on a grocery receipt with its category, any discount and the store, and shows where the items you buy cost less and how much switching stores could save. Its free plan includes 13 receipt uploads in total and 20 hand-entered receipts a month; Premium is $50 a year for unlimited uploads, shared groups of up to 5 people, multi-currency and export. It runs on the web, iPhone and Android.

Drawbacks: the free uploads run out quickly, and it covers groceries only. Pick it if food shopping is all you want to watch.

06Basket: Compare Store Prices: free and on-device

This iPhone app compares unit prices and plans where to shop. It reads receipts and order screenshots with text recognition on the device, asks you to confirm matches, and needs no account, shows no ads and runs no analytics; your grocery data stays on your phone. It's free with no subscription, on iPhone, iPad and Apple Silicon Macs.

Drawbacks: Apple devices only, and it's a price tool, not a budget. Pick it if privacy matters most and you only want prices.

07Price Book: shelf prices by hand

Price Book is for people who note prices in the store. You enter items by hand or with its barcode scanner, and it compares unit prices across package sizes. Its page doesn't mention receipts. It's free, with in-app purchases from $0.99 to $9.99.

Drawbacks: every price is typed or scanned item by item. Pick it if you like keeping a price notebook and want it on your phone.

08Flipp: this week's deals

Flipp collects digital weekly flyers from over 2,000 stores, lets you search items and brands, clip coupons to loyalty cards and build a shopping list that finds the deals for you. It's on the App Store, Google Play and Huawei AppGallery. It tells you what's on sale, not what you've paid.

Pick it if you plan your shop around sales. It pairs well with any receipt-based tracker: one for the week ahead, one for the months behind.

09How to choose

  • You want to know what's on sale before you shop: Flipp.
  • You want your real prices tracked without extra work, inside a budget: Sorayli.
  • You only care about groceries and shop at several stores: Groceries Tracker.
  • You want a free tool that keeps everything on your iPhone: Basket: Compare Store Prices.
  • You'd rather write prices down in the aisle: Price Book.

Our guide to tracking grocery price increases covers the method behind all of this, including unit prices and shrinkflation, and our guide to saving money on groceries with your receipts turns the numbers into a shopping list.

Is there an app that tracks grocery prices from receipts?

Yes. Sorayli, Groceries Tracker and Basket: Compare Store Prices all read receipts to build price histories. Sorayli does it across all your spending; the other two focus on groceries.

How do I track my personal grocery inflation?

Compare what you paid for the same items, at the same size, months apart, and weight each change by how much you spend on it. Our grocery inflation calculator does the arithmetic.

Which app shows the cheapest store near me?

Flipp shows current flyer deals from local stores. Receipt-based trackers show the cheapest shop among the ones you already use.

Do I need to scan every receipt?

Only the ones from shops whose prices you want to follow. A product appears in Sorayli's tracker once you've bought it twice, at least a week apart.
